If you live in Vancouver Washington, or even if you just plan to visit, don’t ask for the short list of fun things to do while you are there. There isn’t one. In fact, a long list of fun things to see and do in the area would be quite extensive. Whether you’re looking for fun and games or you’re a history nut hot on the trail, there are very few areas of the country that are as chock full of adventures as Vancouver.
Never a Dull Moment
Vancouver features a year-round mild climate that makes tons of activities doable virtually anytime you are up for them. Not only that, but being just a short drive from Seattle and a hop, skip, and a jump from Portland, Vancouver is an ideal place from which to plan all sorts of activities, whether they be indoors or out. Do you like shopping? Vancouver Mall is Southwest Washington’s largest fully enclosed shopping center with more than 200 specialty stores as well as several major stores that serve as anchors. Like history? Fort Vancouver is the location of more interesting sites than you could ever get hold of. Visit a former residence of Gen. George C. Marshall, or maybe have dinner at the Grant House, the former home and office of Gen Ulysses S. Grant.
Natural Beauty Abounds
If civilization is just a little too tame for you, why not make an outdoor adventure the order of your trip? Vancouver features numerous attractions that make Mother Nature front and center. When planting season is over, many local farms open up for everyone to enjoy a bit of rural life with mazes and other features. Beautiful parks dot the area around Vancouver with camping opportunities as well as those for those who enjoy other outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, boating, and so much more.
